[2025.10.21] Fuel Cell Module for Aircraft: HYCUS X-LOOP
Summary
- Modification of air-cooled hydrogen fuel cell power pack for aircraft application
- Configuration of 10 air-cooled stack modules in a radial structure
- Cooling duct design and cylindrical outer structure suitable for wind tunnel testing environment
- X-LOOP consists of ten 2 kW rated stacks connected together
X-LOOP Specifications
- System Dimensions
- Module Mounting Section (W x H x D): within 1,000 x 1,000 x 400 mm
- Electrical Equipment Mounting Section (W x H x D): within 1,000 x 1,000 x 400 mm
- Central Opening Diameter: 350 ~ 400 mm
Expectation
- By connecting TerraLIX's air-cooled fuel cells in series, we have produced X-LOOP that can produce 20 kW output specialized in the aviation field.
- Ten stacks with a 2 kW rated output are connected in series, and the air supplied to the central part can manage the heat of the entire stack.
- X-LOOP is a concept that can connect more than 10 more stacks to extend the output per unit up to 50 kW.
- If 10 of these 50 kW fuel cells can be connected for thermal management, it is expected that the output can be drawn up to 500 kW based on the unit module.
